Okay Blog!

Okay Blog…
A lot has been going on since I last posted! Get ready.... I have tons to say!

#1. Dress Fitting:
The dress fittings went pretty good and YES I did have to experience the dreaded tape measure; however, it wasn’t that bad. I actually like both of the dresses I got fitted for which is a major plus! One of the dresses is less than $100 which is really exciting!!!!

#2. 4th of July:
The 4th of July was FABULOUS! My parents have a lake house on Hamilton so needless to say that is where we spend EVERY 4th and I would not have it any other way! I absolutely love family time! While at the lake Zeke, RJ and I went to Skinny Dip Cove to meet up with Missy. I went to TJMaxx and got some dishes, my mother and I worked on our tans, we shot fireworks, grilled, played with a stray dog, and fished! I am having lake withdraws now…. I need to get some SUN time in ASAP!

#3. Mr. Bradley and Mr. Martino:
RJ’s dearest friend’s father passed away. He has been battling with lung cancer since last fall and on July 10th he passed away at 2:09 a.m…. RJ has handled things pretty well.... If you know the Bradley family please keep them in your prayers. In addition to that news RJ found out his father fell from a high altitude and broke his jaw in 3 areas causing his jaw to be wired shut.... The week of the 10th was a tough week.... Please keep Mr. Martino in your prayers as well....

#4. School is just around the corner:
Last week Mardles had their BIG teacher sale and of course I had to pay it a visit! I am very excited about my classroom theme this school year: Ms. Bryant’s Who Crew! After I hit up the sale I was in school mode full force so the following day I hit up two more educational stores and if I must say so myself… My students are going to be brilliant! =) Starting next week I am going to start working on my classroom and if you are a teacher or know a teacher you know that is a BIG deal especially for kindergarten because you have manipulatives for EVERYTHING which equals a ton of organization and planning because 20 little bodies with 5 second attention spans need to have a room that is orderly! I have all my notes ready to send home for open house which I am REALLY proud of myself for! (GO ME and yes I know I am totally tooting my own horn!!!)

#5. The House:
As many of you know mine and RJ’s house is for sale; however, we are starting to REALLY like our home which is not very timely… WELL this past weekend we had a showing and we started getting the house all clean with the purchase me glow and we got a little too much drive! While the house was showing we found ourselves at Sam’s Club purchasing a big shelf for the garage and then Home Depot for MORE stuff! RJ, my mother, and myself worked away until about 11:00 Saturday and if I must say so myself we did a fabulous job! Now we are working on what we call RJ’s “Man Room”. We have a little underground room under our house that is heated and cooled so we are making it into his headquarters and the best part of all is…. Well that brings me to my next point!

I almost forgot... I got new plants too!!!! I think we did an A-okay job don't you!

#6. RJ’s Computer Love:

RJ DID NOT GET HIS COMPUTER OUT ALL WEEKEND UNTIL 6:00p.m. SUNDAY!!!!! Yes blog readers…. That is correct! My boyfriend.. the technology lover is starting to become a normal human!!! To top it off he has yet to open up his computer after he comes home from work ALL WEEK! Yes I realize it is only Wednesday but I am beyond excited!!!!! YAYYYYYYYY! I feel like screaming it from the rooftops!

#7: What’s ahead:
Well blog… I am so excited! Saturday me, my mother, and my grandmother are going to the American Idol concert! WOOHOO! I have never liked the show until this year and NO it’s not because Kris is from Arkansas it’s because the top two guys were both pretty good and it really was a challenge…. Adam is not my style what so ever but he is good if you like the big flashy computerized performances…. BUT what I like about Kris is the fact that 1) He is real 2) What you see and hear is the real thing… It’s him… The music is him not a computer… The performance is him… Not firework, fog, and gender questionable outfits…. Kris is Kris… He could perform on the side of the street and still sound just as good! I will let u know how it goes!!!

SEE U SOON BLOG WITH PICS OF MY CLASSROOM AND IDOL!!!!!

Destin!!!

Hello Blog!

I promised you a post therefore I am giving you a post! What do I have to say you may ask… Well let me begin!!!!

1. I am an avid Hills fan… SO when Lauren Conrad’s book LA Candy came out I just had to run out and get it the day it was released! Well… I expected to just jot in.. Get my book.. And jot out…. WELL I walk in and I cannot find the book anywhere! I look the book up… I still can’t find it…. And non the less… It is “suppose” to be located in the TEEN section…. (HOWEVER Twilight is located in the teen section as well so I felt a little less juvenile because well… we all know how popular Twilight is!) WELL after having to ASK for help I finally got my book…. How much have I read you may ask…. Hardly any!

2. DESTIN!!! In my last post I mentioned that I would be going to Destin on a girls trip… And let me just tell you… it was FABULOUS! I will say it left a pretty good dent in my checkbook though! Everyday we would layout on the beach with our spf and tanning oil… Then about 3:00 every day we would go back to our condo, shower, shop, and go out to eat….

Where did we eat:

Joes's was great as always…. McGuire's Irish Pub was fantastic… The entire building was covered in dollar bills…. I mean COVERED and their crab cakes… delicious… Johnny O'Quigleys was our next stop… It was the local sport bar and we got the best seat in the house…. Under the big screen; however, being the NON sports fans we are…. Whenever people started yelling and looking our way…. It was a little startling… I had a club sandwich on a pretzel… Can we say… melt in your mouth good! We drove to Pineapple Willy's in Panama one night and the atmosphere was amazing! Being one of the more popular places to eat there was a wait; however, Fat Tuesday's had a waiting bar connected to the Pineapple Willy's which provided a little raggae music and marvelous drinks! Our last night I ate the BEST crab and shrimp stuffed Mahi-mahi at Pompano Joe's …. It’s a local dive that I HIGHLY recommend!

Shopping:
I thought I was a shopper… The girls I went with put me to shame regarding shopping…. They are power shoppers without a doubt…. Here are a few places we went… Destin Commons was our first stop and it was pretty good…
My favorite store was Frock Candy! Our second stop was Silver Sands Mall…. The largest mall I have ever seen! Pier Park in Panama was AMAZING! Regarding unique shops and atmosphere The Pier mall was the best! My favorite shops were Ron Jon (of course)and De JaVu!!!!!If you visit FL you HAVE to go!

Where to stay:

We stayed at the Sun Destin Resort in Destin, FL and it was great! We were within walking distance to the beach and there were chairs and umbrellas available for us to rent daily; however, take this point of advice… If you want to sit on the first row…. Book your chair a day ahead! The weather was PERFECT! I would go back in the drop of hat!

3. I got my birthday present from RJ! What was it you may ask??? Well let me explain… Every year we decided to take a trip for my birthday (which is May) during October when the weather is PERFECT… WELL this year I decided to be selfish and ask for a gift vs. a trip because trips always end up costing more even though we both benefit…. WELL I gave RJ some options and he chose to order me necklace from Tiffany’s… I was SO beyond excited to open up my little blue box because well…. What girl wouldn’t be and I love my necklace! RJ did such a fabulous job and the card he gave me…. I balled… It was so sweet! The necklace he ordered was perfectly dainty; however, it was a bit over priced so I am returning it for a zodiac pendant necklace… As soon as I get it I will post a picture! =)

So what is ahead???? Dress fittings! Yes… Dress fittings….. I have one tomorrow for my best friend Missy’s wedding and one on Wednesday for Becky’s wedding… She was my best friend growing up…. I will let you know how it goes! I am so blessed to have such good friends and be a part of their special day… Even if I do have to be measured around the hips to insure I order the correct size… =/ OH the dreaded tape measure!

The past few months!

It's Been A While

I have been awful about creating new post.... This isn't really my forte; however, I expect to be an expert regarding "blogger" in no time! Check out my fabulous page which I created without the help of my techie boyfriend...(Good job self!)

Why has it been so long?
For those of you that do not know... I am a teacher... A kindergarten teacher at that... Do you know what happens to children when springs hits.... The children get what I like to call "Spring Fever" which later turns into "Summer Fever aka THE END OF SCHOOL" as a result of this condition the children must remain occupied non-stop... While the students are working... I get the files and everything else (including the room) ready for summer.... All of this put together equals a lot of things:

1: 9:00 pm becomes your best friend: BED TIME
2: Alarm clocks become your enemy
3: Countdown application are EVERYWHERE.... SUMMER IS ALMOST HERE
4: You... Live... Sleep... And Breath... WORK
5: You realize how much your little darlings have grown which causes a sentimental tear.... Or massive sobbing session when the last day arrives... :'(

In a nutshell.... I just haven't had the time! BUT I would not change the last few months for anything. I absolutely love what I do!

With all of this being said I have left out some very crucial information:
RONA'S WEDDING:
You may be wondering: Who is Rona? Well... Let me just tell you... Rona is RJ's oldest sister and she is fabulous! Her soon to be husband won a vacation package and WELL what better way to use it than for your wedding day? She got married in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. which may I add is the most beautiful beach I have EVER been to! Rona being the wonder woman she is planned the entire wedding... She had everything planned to perfection and all of her hard work payed off! Below is a picture of the Martino clan at the wedding:

My birthday:
In May I hit the big 26... That is correct.... I am over the hump of my 20's with my 30's in clear view... (I am not excited about that one bit) BUT for my birthday my fabulous boyfriend took me to Terrace At The Greens and it was FABULOUS! For my birthday celebration with my friends we went to my parents lake house and had a girls night out on the town followed by a girls day on the lake... And let me just tell you one fact.... I have the most wonderful friends! And last but not least.... My family celebration... My parents took me to eat at my most favorite restaurant in Hot Springs.... Angles in the Park... Cheese Tortellini with Alfredo Sauce... Fattening yes... But was it worth it? YOU BET YA! Below are just a few pictures from my friends party:

So what's Next?
Well Since I have updated you on all that has occurred since March I plan on doing my best to keep you up to date.... Friday I am leaving for Destin for a girls trip so be sure to visit my blog in a few weeks because I can assure you there will be fabulous stories to be told as well as pictures!

My family is just topnotch!!! I have two grandmothers that are a hoot and are rockin and rollin at an awesome age! My parents are SO much fun... They are not only my parents but they are my mentors and best friends! My family has made me who I am today and I am truly grateful! I have a wonderful brother named Zeke who is pretty rad himself! My friends are AMAZINGLY FABULOUS! Yes that is right... I have the most wonderful friends in the world! They are like family to me... We have had great AND not so great times BUT we have remained close through it all! I know that the friends I have now I will maintain for life!

MY FELLOW FRIEND:
And last... There is my boyfriend/ best friend/ RJ whom I met many years ago at Hornets football game in 1996! He was in 9th grade and I was in 8th.... We ended up dating for a while; however, our "oh so serious" relationship came to a hault when I started high school... We remained best friends through the remainder of high school and college and a few years ago decided to take anther shot at love...
(To be continued)

BLOGGING????
The reason why I decided to blog was to occupy my time and share my creative ideas, experiences, and thoughts with the world! RJ (my boyfriend) is into technology so I thought this would also be a great way from him to keep up with me during the week as well as my family! I hope you enjoy all of my post to come and I am looking forward to reading yours!
